PRP Under Eyes (Tear Trough Rejuvenation)
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a natural treatment that uses your own blood to rejuvenate the under-eye area. Originally used to promote healing, PRP is now commonly used in aesthetics to improve dark circles, fine lines, and overall skin quality.
How It Works
A small amount of your blood is drawn and placed into a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma. This “liquid gold” contains powerful growth factors and is injected or microneedled under the eyes to stimulate collagen production, improve circulation, and support skin repair.
Because PRP comes from your own body, it is a natural treatment with no added chemicals.
What It Treats
PRP under eyes can help improve dark circles, hollow or sunken under-eyes, fine lines, wrinkles, and overall skin texture and brightness.
Common Causes of Dark Circles
Dark under-eyes can be caused by aging and collagen loss, genetics, poor sleep, dehydration, allergies or sinus issues, poor circulation, weight loss, or nutritional deficiencies.
What to Expect
Treatment typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. A numbing agent is used to keep you comfortable. Most patients experience minimal discomfort and there is little to no downtime.
Results
Results develop gradually as collagen builds. Patients often notice brighter, smoother under-eyes, improved skin quality, and reduced dark circles and hollowness. Early changes may be seen sooner, with full results developing over about 3 months.
Side Effects
Side effects are usually mild and temporary and may include swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness. These typically resolve within a few days to one week.
Who Is a Good Candidate
Most men and women can benefit, especially those with early to moderate hollowing, dark circles, or thin under-eye skin. PRP is not recommended for patients with certain medical conditions or during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Aftercare
Avoid touching the area for at least 6 hours. Do not apply makeup for 3 to 6 hours. Avoid alcohol, heat, and intense exercise for 24 hours. Avoid active skincare such as retinol or acids for a few days.
Our Approach
PRP can be used on its own or combined with other treatments such as dermal filler for optimal results. Each treatment is customized based on your anatomy and goals to achieve a natural, refreshed appearance.
